Hi!
I’m back after having the most special weekend in DC!!!! My very very dear friends who I love soo much were married and it was one of those times that really makes you reflect on life and be soo grateful. I will be sharing the wedding pics with you shortly….I’m excited! In the meantime, I’m finding myself in a very reflective, joyful, grateful kind of mood in general. You know when the seasons change and the air is crisp, you’re drinking a carmel apple cider from Starbucks…and you hear a great song and the sun is shining. You can’t help but be grateful to be alive. I was flying back and had a pretty rough time at the airport…I hate Dulles and the fact that you might as well asked to be strip searched multiple times simply because you are carrying a fancy camera…but that’s beside the point. So, I literally fell into my seat on the plane….excited about sitting in one spot for over an hour after standing for nearly three! I couldn’t take any more noise so I pulled out my ipod and found a great spot between the seat and the wall to put my head. The plane took off…under rainy, cloudy skies. I shut my eyes and hit play. A song came on…and one of my favorite things happened. It’s that moment on a plane when you break through the clouds up to the glorious, peaceful, sunny place above the rain clouds. The warm sun hit my face…i love it when that happens….and as I sat there, slightly exhausted but wanting to soak in every moment of this great blurp in time, I just was soo happy to be alive and feeling the sun on my face….and having a new favorite song that was perfect for that moment. The song is the Riddle by Five for Fighting. I was reflecting on the weekend and how much it mean’t to me…..and how many things there are in life to be grateful for. Just then the flight attendant walked up and completed the perfect moment…with a hot cup of coffee! Mmmmm. Then I dozed off to sleep and awoke to the “welcome to Indianapolis” announcement…which I love…makes me feel all warm & fuzzy to hear that when I arrive at home, where my husband & family are….my favorite city. I got of the plane and was greeted by my wonderful husband. He took me to a fantastic dinner at Bonefish! Mmmmm…..Isn’t life grand!
Go listen to the song….it’s great. ![]()
