Susan Stripling just did an incredible review on the Nikon D3!! CLICK HERE TO READ IT!!! I won’t lie…i’m really jealous and I’m honestly praying that

Canon is working some kind of magic on a new camera that rivals the D3!! They would be FOOLISH not to!! It genuinely sounds like the D3 is the most incredible digital camera to date….as much as I hate to say that! I almost can’t believe how incredible her out of camera image files are….the low noise level, the incredible exposure, the white balance…it’s really amazing!! Would you believe that the image to the right is STRAIGHT out of the camera, with a slight cooling in the raw conversion and THAT IS IT?? I have to hand it to Nikon…they put out some good cameras…but nothing really touched the Canon line, in my personal opinion…and all the while, their magic Nikon elves were whipping up this little guy that would take the photo world by storm!! Like I said before, if I weren’t a really strong believer in Canon, I would switch!! HURRY UP and GET WITH IT ALREADY CANON, your faithful people are dying here!! In the meantime, check out Susan’s review….you won’t believe it either! ;)

My hopes aren’t very high for the 5D mkII.
The 1Ds Mark III is only an incremental noise improvement over the 5D. So, I don’t foresee a radical improvement coming. And, I don’t believe Canon has any interest in improving the flash sync speed. I hope I’m wrong.

We’re going to see a lot of Nikon-turned-Canon shooters going back to Nikon.

Yeah, I saw that yesterday. I swear…if Roberts had a couple of those in stock, I’d be ebaying some Canon stuff right now! ;) Now, if I could just shoot half as good as you or Susan…I’d be set!

Ahhhh. NIkon. Two new D300s arrive in January. Same auto WB and AF system as the D3. …And a kickin’ new CMOS DX sensor. In 2009, one D300 gets sold and replaced by a D3 - or both get sold and I get two new D300x bodies with the FX sensor - One can only pray. :)

Now if Nikon would just update their 24mm, 50mm, 85mm and 135mm primes to AF-S I’d be a happy camper - and make the 24mm a 1.4 instead of a 2.8. THEN I’d be a happy camper.

Happy New Year to all!

I’ve been a Nikon guy since high school. There is a feel that is very familiar and at the end of the day it is about the images and not which tool was used to produce the images. I know Canon makes great equipment, and in recent years it has been tough when everyone else has been raving about their Canon equipment and slamming Nikon to stay with what I know and love.

In August when I heard about a full frame Nikon, that sold it for me. I placed my order and it arrived this past Thursday. I’ve been shooting D100s and D200s which have served me well, but the D3 is unfreaking believable. The screen makes everything look so good. I’ve never seen anything like it. With the full frame sensor, and low noise with high ISOs I’m blown away.

If you’re a Nikon refugee in Canon land, its time to come home!!

Have a great new year,

BT
